Hopefully these frequently asked questions will help you with any you may have, but if they don't please get in touch via the contact icon on our side bar.

How long will C2C take to finish? In 2016, the hike element took between 5-7hrs and the whole event took between 7-11hrs to finish.

How fit do I need to be? You don't have to be a superfit athlete, but it is a tough challenge, so we definitely recommend people who area able to walk over rough terrain and bike long distances. With plenty of training beforehand, the event is doable for most people with an average level of fitness.

Will there be transport? Yes. A bus will leave from Moray Coast Medical Centre in the morning, with a further collection at Grantown on Spey for the hikers who wish to leave their cars there.

What sort of bike will I need? You will need a mountain bike for the Dava Way, the track is very rough in places and isn't suitable for a hybrid bike. There is the option of swapping on to a road bike in Forres, but you would need to be responsible for dropping off and collecting each bike.

How will my bike get to Grantown on Spey? Your bike will need to be dropped off with Outfit Moray on the Friday evening during our registration and pasta party. Those unable to make the evening can drop their bikes off earlier on the Friday. If you are unable to make either of those times, the Force Development Training Centre in Grantown will be open from 9am, so bikes can be dropped off there.

Do I need to carry all my kit? No. Your bike kit will be dropped off with your bike and will be waiting for you at Grantown. Your walking kit will then be taken to the finish line. If you beat your bag back, it can be collected from Outfit Moray the following Monday.

Do I need to carry water and snacks? Yes. There will be water and food stops along the way, but we always recommend you carry your own energy drink and bars with you, just in case.

Can I enter on my own? Yes, although due to the nature of the event, we suggest teams of two or more.

Is the minimum sponsorship per person or per team? Per person

Can I run the hike part? It's very rough underfoot and we wouldn't recommend it, but if you are used to that sort of running it's not a problem. All we ask is that you let us know, so we can make sure our marshall points are manned early enough to cater for you.

Can I bring my dog? Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on either element of the challenge. If the owner was to require a medevac, it would mean trying to organise somebody to look after the dog.

Where's the best place to book accommodation? We would recommend booking in Lossiemouth as that is where the event finishes. There are several good B&Bs and hotels in the local area.
